Recognizing the immediate opportunity federal climate change legislation presents to address global deforestation, NWF joined a group of the nation’s leading environmental groups, conservation organizations, and corporations in issuing a set of consensus principles related to forests for incorporation into federal climate legislation. These groups are committed to working together to advance these principles as the legislative process unfold. The good news is that many of these principles are reflected in the American Clean Energy and Security Act, which passed through the House of Representatives.
