African American Leaders Fly-In
Washington, DC
May 4-5 2009
The African American leaders fly-in was held May 4 and 5. Over 20 leaders representing 10 different states confirmed for our event gathered for the event. We’ve pulled together a wide range of leaders, from business owners, clergy, to professors.
The fly-in began with an afternoon of presentations and training on global warming and current proposed legislation. The following day, participants went to the Hill and met with their congress people.
In follow-up to the event, NWF is working with these leaders to coordinate in-district meetings, draft a collective resolution on climate change, and garner local media attention on climate change.
